Battle with ENORMA, 1-3 (Updated)

For an hour Wonder Woman and Enorma had fought, neither woman gaining the upper hand.  Hesperia, ordered not to intervene, was forced to stand and watch idly.   Letting her guard down while her compatriot battled gave Enorma's own ally, the notorious X-V, an opportunity and the opening to intervene.   Emerging from her cover she leveled her bio-pulse rifle at Wonder Woman, who with insane reflexes managed to deflect the blast.   Before X-V could squeeze off another shot, Hesperia lassoed and then slammed her into a wall, knocking the muscular warrior senseless.  She then secured X-V to a lamp post, where she was left dangling helplessly.  But the ambush, even if not as successful as intended, still served its purpose.   All Enorma required was one unblocked blow to send Wonder Woman reeling.    Deciding for herself that the fair fight Wonder Woman wanted was now void, Hesperia joined Wonder Woman in combat.   Together they managed to bring Enorma down to her knees.  Enorma's strength and resilience rivalled Doomsday.  She would not go out easily. 


At last Power Girl entered the fray, turning the tide of the battle.   Enorma was overcome by their combined strength.   A slumping Enorma was held up by her arms, Wonder Woman on one side, Hesperia on the other.  A showboating Power Girl struck her repeatedly, clearly pulling all her punches.   "What's wrong," she asked Enorma, sarcasm dripping from her tone.  "You can't get your squeeze on today." 

Wonder Woman shot an angry look at her.   "Just knock her out already, Kara!" she shouted. 

Hesperia flashed a distressed glance at Wonder Woman.  She could feel Enorma's fingers flexing and pressing into her.  Enorma was reviving!  Hesperia knew that neither she nor Wonder Woman had the stamina to go another round.

Yet Enorma seemed on the very precipice of unconsciousness, so Power Girl only half-heartedly listened to Wonder Woman's plea to knock the gigantic woman completely out.   She did cease the torso kicks and backhands against Enorma's face.   She flexed her fingers before curling each hand into a tight fist.   A series of hard lefts and rights rained down on Enorma's head.   Suddenly Enorma lifted her drooping head, a crazy smile stretching across her face.  "Boo," she shouted.   Power Girl was taken back.   Dumbfounded in disbelief she stood there wide-eyed and genuinely amazed at her resilience.  All was eerily quiet.  Enorma mouthed a kiss at her.  With a blur of motion her arms stiffened.  A loud thump and a muffled shout, each coming either side of Power Girl, filled the silence simultaneously.   Dread descended on Power Girl.  She knew too well the sound of a punch connecting.  Her eyes were still  focused on Enorma, who, while nodding, winked at her, and then turned to look to her left.  Power Girl twisted about to look in the same direction.  Wonder Woman stood there, swaying back and forth, seemingly oblivious.   Before Power Girl could react, Enorma simply flicked her wrist.  Her fist levelled out with her arm, punching Wonder Woman square in the face.  The Amazon teetered precariously.  Enorma puckered her lips and blew another kiss.  As if on cue Wonder Woman collapsed to the ground and did not move.

Power Girl's eyes lingered only for a moment on her fallen comrade.   Her muscles tensed before she twisted and lunged the other way, reaching out to free Hesperia from Enorma's grasp.   She moved quickly toward Hesperia, but Enorma, despite her size, moved even quicker, her hand zeroing in on Power Girl's neck like a cobra in the act of striking.
